FAQ
In which countries are you active?
At this moment we are active in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. We also have partnerships with other European countries, because of that we can easily scale up when necessary.
How many e-bikes can I lease for business purposes?
If you want to lease less than 10 e-bikes for business purposes, you can order them directly via the website. Do you want to lease 10 e-bikes or more, or are you looking for a tailor-made solution? Then request a quotation.
How can I arrange e-bikes for my employees in a tax-efficient manner?
If you lease an e-bike for your employee, the employee can fully deduct the lease costs from their gross salary. In addition, your employees are also allowed to use the company e-bike privately. Besides, as an employer you can offer a tax-free kilometer allowance with a maximum of 19 cents per kilometer.
Are the costs covered by the work cost regulations (WKR)?
In the Netherlands, the provision of a company e-bike (as well as any contributions to the leasing costs) are not covered by the work cost regulations (WKR). This means the costs are not debited from the discretionary scope.
What costs can I expect as an employer if I offer my employees a bicycle plan via Noord?
As an employer, you decide whether and to what extent you contribute to the costs of the lease plan. You can decide to pay 100% of the lease costs, make a contribution to the employee’s lease amount, or have your employee pay the full amount. If you choose to contribute, the costs will not be debited from the discretionary scope of the work cost regulations (WKR). In addition, you can deduct the costs from your profit tax. The addition of 7% is paid by the employee.
What happens with the e-bike and if an employee leaves the company?
If an employee leaves your company, you can return the e-bike when the contract ends. Of course you can also keep the e-bike and offer it to another colleague. As an employee or company, you are not tied to a lump sum payment. Besides, we offer contracts with shorter terms than the standard lease term of 3 years.
Can the Noord e-bikes be shared by several colleagues?
Yes, that’s possible. We have developed a special smartlock & app system for companies that want to pool with e-bikes. This makes it possible to digitally unlock and lock the e-bikes. Your employees do not need a key and can easily share the bikes with each other.
As an employer, am I responsible for the maintenance of the e-bikes?
We take care of both maintenance and damage repair of the e-bikes. If you have opted for a subscription with damage and theft coverage, you and your employee will not incur any unexpected costs. Is the e-bike in your name? Then you as an employer are responsible for the costs. Is the e-bike registered in the name of your employee or do you have a split billing agreement? Then the repair costs are for the employee.
What happens if an employee's e-bike gets stolen?
If an employee’s e-bike is stolen, your employee will receive a new one from us as soon as possible. In the event of theft, immediately report the theft via your contact person at Noord, or have your employee report it via their MyBike account.
